danielguillan @justobusto Yes, you're right. I finally bought an LG W2486L for its 1080p output and overall "good" picture quality. Like you said it's better suited for gaming and more general use but I'm pretty happy with it as my secondary screen. If you're looking for something that is not a TN panel you'll have to look for something smaller or really more expensive. An Apple reseller salesperson pointed me to this screens: http://www.eizo.com/global/ I can't find the one that he suggested but it was a 21" or 23" VA (not TN) screen with great color accuracy for under $400.

danielguillan hey @justobusto ! I'm also looking for a monitor 24"-26". I think there is nothing decent under $200. I've heard that the 24" Smasung T240HD ( http://j.mp/8NhNwg ) is ok screen quality-wise, it's an HD tv/monitor combo. I'm now interested in a LG W2486L. It's one of the first good quality, led-backlit monitors out there with a reasonable price tag: $260 ( http://j.mp/89zYOe ). Let me know if you find something interesting!

danielguillan @alyce , @posse and @tototoolco you're right. There are a some really interesting threads (#1080px, #codeigiter...) but nobody is participating... me neither. There is very talented and smart people here on Qonversation that I'm sure would be pleased to participate actively but there is something that isn't working... It seems that qonversations that can be responded with a url (your portfolio, your flickr photostream) or a few words (your favorite typeface...) are the ones that work.
