drewrios Dropular, all the way. The clean, simple, tasteful design of it all wins me over completely. The actual content of Dropular is also(in my opinion) better. It fuels my daily creativity and experimenting. As a design student it gives me a huge advantage over my peers I'm competing with. I'm always on the cutting edge of original, beautiful work. The community on Dropular KNOWS good design and art, and i'm proud to say i use Dropular and not FFFFound.

Now if only i can get an invite! Haha. I'd start doing promo posters and buttons just for the tribute to it! :]

cosmiques Been using Dropular since the very beginning and I'm long since sold. From time to time I'll peruse Buamai or Ffffound, but there's usually enough overlap to just stick to Dropular. Quite excited that the Dopular iPhone app has (finally) been approved...word.

texjer I can't believe I judged Dropular without actually being a member of the site. Now that I'm on it, I'm sold. I still don't like the opacity bar, but I also stopped noticing it. It's pretty feature rich, you can bookmark images, videos and links, and there are so many ways to filter, tag, and search the site. The stuff on there seems very designy at first, but once you're a member, and you start generating your own taste, all that starts to disappear.

pieratt I prefer ffffound for the simple reason that its Similar Items algorithm is amazing. I also enjoy the quick glance at other fffound member's collections you get from the individual items pages.

Dropular is a better experience in a lot of ways, but there are a couple things that drive me nuts about it. (a) the opacity overlay at the top of the page makes me claustrophobic and I hate how it obscures my view when scrolling. (b) the fact that the similar-images grid on an item page updates dynamically, so I can't quickly go back to a page where I know I saw something to try and find it. I don't understand this and it has driven me batty on more than one occasion. (c) The grid view is substantially less visually appealing now that the right column has been taken over by user preferences and advertising. The site functions have been split into horizontal and vertical chunks and it feels cumbersome.

Note that I'm being nit-picky for the sake of contributing to the conversation. There are a number of wonderful aspects to dropular which I'm not getting into it.

daniel @acetate I think the broader content on ffffound is a plus, as long as the quality is good (which it is, imo.) Although if you're only really interested in graphic design then I can see why you favour Dropular.

@kalkal It still seems to be in good health at the moment, both in terms of quality and volume, but I tend to a agree that the policy of no new invites will lead it to peter out eventually.

kalkal I'd have a couple more invites if it weren't for the fact, as soon as you generate an invite url, you lose that invite regardless if it's used by someone or not. Simply lost.

hellodrew I'd have to hand it to Dropular for its grid view as well as the ability to load tons of images on the main page, It also does video which ffffound does not. I have to give it to ffffound for the quality of it's archives (see a lot more ffffound drops then drops ffffound [?]) but I think that has to do with it's smaller base of users more then anything.
Of course this is only form browsing the two sites, still searching for an invite to Dropular.
